What Shield Does

Real protection, not privacy theater.

Tracker Blocking

Powered by EasyList and EasyPrivacy filter lists. Blocks ads, trackers, and fingerprinting scripts before they load. See a real-time count of what was blocked on every page.

Privacy Scoring

Every site gets a privacy grade from S (perfect) to F. Instantly understand how a site treats your data based on trackers detected, cookie behavior, and third-party requests.

Cookie Auto-Reject

Automatically rejects non-essential cookies on 100+ consent platforms. No more clicking through confusing dialogs designed to trick you into accepting everything.

URL Cleaning

Strips 60+ tracking parameters from URLs as you browse. UTM tags, Facebook click IDs, Google click IDs, and dozens more are removed automatically so your links stay clean.

Free

Fingerprint Protection

Browser fingerprinting identifies you without cookies. Sites probe your GPU, canvas rendering, audio processing, and installed fonts to create a unique ID that follows you across the web. Unlike cookies, you cannot clear a fingerprint. Shield detects and disrupts four fingerprinting techniques:

Canvas Noise

Adds imperceptible noise to canvas pixel data before sites can read it. Your canvas fingerprint changes each session, breaking cross-site tracking.

WebGL Spoofing

Returns generic GPU vendor and renderer strings instead of your real hardware info. Sites see the same GPU as millions of other users.

Audio Disruption

Adds micro-noise to AudioContext output used for audio fingerprinting. The hash changes each session without affecting audio playback.

Font Enumeration Blocking

Detects rapid font probing and returns randomized width measurements, preventing sites from building a reliable list of your installed fonts.

Free

The Mirror

Shield's live counter-surveillance feed, and it is free. It shows you, in the moment, who is trying to profile you and what Shield did about it.

Session-replay detection

Some sites record every keystroke, mouse move, and scroll, then stream it to a replay vendor for playback. Shield recognizes 16 of them (FullStory, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, LogRocket, and more), names the one recording you, and can block the upload so the page still works but your session never leaves your browser.

Fake-reject alerts

When you reject a cookie banner, some trackers fire anyway. Shield rejects consent for you, then catches the trackers that ignore your choice and names them.

Payment is handled by Stripe, who collect your name, email, and billing address to process payment and meet tax law. Symvek never sees your card number, and our own systems store only an opaque billing ID and your license, never your browsing.

Under the Hood

Built with WXT

Modern browser extension framework with hot module reload, cross-browser support, and TypeScript by default. The same codebase targets both Chrome and Firefox.

Zero Data Collection

Shield collects no browsing data, ever. No analytics, no telemetry, no usage tracking. Your history, scores, and the trackers you encounter stay on your device. Premium validation sends only a one-way hash of your license key, never your browsing.

Runs in Your Browser

Shield runs entirely in your browser. Filter lists are fetched and cached locally; no browsing data is sent. The free tier makes no network calls at all. Premium adds a license check that sends only a hash of your key and device. No account needed for the free tier.

Common questions

Is Symvek Shield a tracker blocker?

Yes. Shield blocks over 22,000 known tracker domains the moment you install it, and shows you a live count of what it stopped on every page.

Does Shield block browser fingerprinting?

Yes. Shield detects fingerprinting attempts (canvas, WebGL, audio, and font probes) and disrupts them, so sites cannot build a hidden identifier from your browser.

Is Symvek Shield free?

Yes. The privacy grade, tracker blocking, automatic cookie-banner rejection, fingerprint protection, and the live Mirror feed are all free, with no account required. Premium adds the layer that acts on what the Mirror shows you: rebuild and reset the ad profile Google and Meta built on you and keep it reset, plus fingerprint intelligence, history, and one-click GDPR, CCPA, and PIPEDA data requests.

Does Shield collect my data?

No. Shield collects nothing. Your browsing never leaves your device. You can confirm it yourself by opening your browser network tab and watching for outbound requests, of which there are none.

Does Shield work in Chrome?

Yes. Shield is live on the Chrome Web Store as a Manifest V3 extension. Firefox support is on the way.
